Satellite Navigation / Road Signs

Satellite navigation can be used through a car’s integrated system, a detachable device, or a mobile Sat-Nav app. Inputting a postcode allows it to calculate a route, offering options like the fastest, shortest, or most economical. Voice guidance and on-screen directions assist drivers. When using a mobile Sat-Nav app, ensure the phone is securely mounted. Various road markings include stop lines at signals, ‘give way’ lines, edge lines, centre lines, hazard warning lines, and double white lines with specific rules for each. Lane lines and markings along the road’s edge relate to parking and waiting rules. ‘Keep clear’ sections are labelled to indicate no-stopping areas, and labelled lanes help drivers navigate complex junctions on wider roads and motorways.
