Traffic Lights

Traffic Lights

Traffic lights convey safety instructions to road users in the UK. The sequence includes stopping at red, preparing to go at red and amber, proceeding when the way is clear at green, and stopping (unless unsafe) at amber. Stop lines at traffic lights are mandatory, and some may have separate sections for cyclists. Filter traffic lights with arrows indicate priority directions, and during outages, approach with caution and treat the situation like an unmarked junction where no one has priority.
